Reflections and Exciting News From The Flower Farm.......

Sitting here tonight, I find myself reflecting on this past cut flower season. It was truly a beautiful season, filled with so many vibrant blooms. One flower that especially captured my heart was the lisianthus. I fell completely in love with them and have decided to triple the crop next year! Using them in a wedding early this summer made me realize just how delicate and gorgeous they are. Another flower that has earned a spot at the top of my list is ranunculus. Though I only trialed them this year and didn’t see many in the bouquets, I can confidently say they’re a winner and I’m excited to bring many more to you next season.

As many of you know, my husband and I make a great team, and we’ve been talking and planning for the future. He is soon retiring after a long career in the fire service, with only two working shifts left to go. Having him home full-time will be such a blessing, and I couldn’t be more excited to continue this flower farm journey with him by my side. He’s my number one fan and my biggest source of encouragement.

Today, I spent most of the day creating bows for wreaths and other holiday décor we’ll be offering this season. We are so blessed to work with a wonderful local Christmas tree farm, Harrod Tree Farm, for all our greens. It’s a tradition for us to cut our tree down there every year, and we are so grateful for their support. Last week, a wonderful woman dropped off some pinecones for us, and I didn’t realize how excited I would be to receive them! They’re truly a staple in creating our holiday décor.

With the holidays fast approaching, we hope to see you at our Holiday Open House on November 30th. I’m excited to have my very good friend from Unique Sea Creations join us, as well as my niece, who creates the most wonderful crocheted animals and gifts. We use the potholders she made for us every day—they’re simply the best!

As many of you know, I find so much joy in creating centerpieces and bouquets. Yesterday, I had a chance to trial a Thanksgiving centerpiece, and I truly enjoyed every moment of it. I just love how beautiful it will look on the Thanksgiving table! If you’re interested in ordering a Thanksgiving centerpiece, please reach out to me at flowerbrookfarm65@gmail.com. Each flower I use is carefully chosen, and I want to ensure that you enjoy your arrangements for as long as possible.

I hope your week has been wonderful so far! One last exciting tidbit: we’re in the process of revamping our website. A dear friend of mine introduced me to someone who’s taken an interest in designing the website of my dreams. I’m hoping it will go live this week, and once it does, you’ll also be able to sign up for our 2025 Summer Flower Subscriptions! I’ve been waiting for a few years to offer this, and I’m so excited to finally share it with you. For six weeks, once a week, you’ll receive a beautifully wrapped bouquet with the best blooms from the farm at that time. Once the new website is live, you’ll be able to easily place your order, and I know these bouquets will make perfect gifts, too!

Below you will find some photos of our stand last holiday season along with the beautiful Thanksgiving centerpiece I created. Wishing you all a wonderful week ahead!

Warmly,

Kelly
